This has been on my mind ever since one of my friends was literally beaten up by his girlfriend a week ago. Not some dainty slap, I mean closed fist punching and kicks and a busted lip. Obviously the woman is dangerous but it also made us all think of just how many time women physically assault us and we just put up with it to such a normalized and hushed degree that even bringing it up is met with extreme skepticism if not with scorn and derision!

My own sisters certainly punched/slapped.kicked me a lot and when I was a kid I used to get slapped and even the occasional kick of punch of the family jewels when we were playing around and I was never allowed to hit them nor did I ever feel any need to hit them because being a boy I was always extremely self conscious about hurting them because I always figured I was "stronger" than them - somehow - even though my older sister was bigger and taller. I absolutely never even thought nor did it ever occur to me that this was fooct up. I just saw it as normal, just roughhousing and childish horseplay.

Now as an adult I never payed attention to the fact that it just never stopped. And it's not just my sisters, who still affectionately punch me in the kidney when I tease them, but women in general just feel entitled to put their hands on men and expect no retaliation.

I also want to keep things in perspective. Women getting physically violence is not normal but it is sure as hell becoming a growing trend because when I was a kid it just didn't happen as often as I am hearing about it today. And according to older folk it didn't happen at all in their day.

So my view is that women are just going to keep escalating this physical abuse of men until more and more men snap out of it. But even as we wake up and say "Biish stop hitting me!" she's only going to be like "WTF you gonna do about it?" I honestly have no clue where the hell do we go from here. So anyone is welcome to change my view or tell me I'm nuts and that it's just in my head and that girls aren't getting more violent.
