Fun Fact: There is nothing more effective in seduction than making the seduced think that they are the ones doing the seducing.

Go for the one you like. Don't get a job you hate because other people think it's cool.

You're right.

But I like all of them.

Which one do you think is cool?

[–]Yankee_Fever 2 points3 points4 points 4 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

None of them. If you're not getting a degree in STEM dont go to college at all

[–]0ln0pkn0[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 4 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Do you even know what these degrees cover?

[–]Yankee_Fever 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Not entirely. But it seems like pyschology, business and a math heavy CS degree.

You'd probably just be better off with a CS degree and apply it to any field you want

[–]0ln0pkn0[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 4 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

I don't think that a normal CS degree would be very prestigious

[–]Yankee_Fever 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You know what's prestigious. Being a badass mother fucker.

I work in enterprise technology engineering without a degree at all. If I could do it all over again I would have gotten a CS degree to save myself a bunch of nights praying that I'd make it.

A degree only means as much as you're desire to win and your level of competence.

Prestige is awarded based off of 20-40 years of dominating an industry. Not a piece of paper you got for doing 2 years of study

[–]0ln0pkn0[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What do you mean with working in enterprise technology engineering?

Are you a freelance developer or something? Or an IT assistent?

[–]4903u5jthi 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It will be at the minimum more prestigious than the other two. If you’re going for prestige the classic tracks are investment banking which requires a finance major from a top 20 school. Software engineering at FAANG which requires you to be good at programming. Management consulting at the big 3, also requires a top 20 school. CS is the only option if you do not go to Ivy League school or have existing connections in industry.

This is just wrong.

If you look at the studies, you can easily see, that Doctors, Lawers, Scientists, Engineers and many more occupations are far more respected than banking or management consulting.

[–]4903u5jthi 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Well yeah if you are counting advanced degrees. I was talking about undergraduate. Doctors, Lawyers, Scientists all require advanced degrees to get to a high level, just ask all the biology majors lmao. Engineering may be possible with just undergrad.

What's business intelligence?

[–]0ln0pkn0[S] 0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Business intelligence (BI) comprises the strategies and technologies used by enterprises for the data analysis and management of business information.

Cognitive Neuroscience is a glorified psych degree. Don’t rely on votes, you can easily just go on linkedin see where people are and see what they majored in.
