Crosspost "When do you know it’s time to move on?" from /r/marriedredpill:
Hi, long time lurker, first time poster. I (M40) have lately applied with wife (40F) with success the principles of STFU, boundaries, and passing most shit tests. It has been a serious relief since I first, a couple of years ago, came across NMMNG and started slowly opening my eyes. We had a rough patch and things started to fall into place. Things took an amazing positive turn when I lost the fear of divorce — I haven’t feared the loss of the relationship, but I didn’t want my kids to grow in a divorce setting.
I’ve read Deida’s Superior Man, and Tomasi’s Rational Male, and I do have some questions.
I’m a quite fit guy and I’m thriving in my career, and we have two adorable kids (M6, M2). Despite my efforts we still fall into some quarreling, and it’s the same old drama, snowflake-ness and fragility, unreasonable demands etc.
I know I can work harder and be more rational, and pass more shit tests, and keep it more together… but I am starting to think… do I want all to keep putting the effort? Should I just move on and be a father, but not a husband? We already agreed that if that’s the case I’d have shared custody.
I often feel the loss of the sense of adventure, spontaneity and even my sex drive not matching hers. I am so fed up with her shit testing and ruining the mood for everyone when everyone is just having a great time. The most common thing is, if she’s dissatisfied with something (she’s quite often focused on what she doesn’t have, can’t have, won’t have, despite us having a great life standard). Thus if I say “come on”, there you go, it’s hours (days?) or a mood.
Honestly, fellows, I am tired.
Any advice? Thank you already.
