For people who didn’t read the articles of what happened in this trial:

He met a girl at the Calgary Stampede in Summer 2017
She says he was so drunk when she met him that she could never possibly be attracted to him
They text for months and she comes to Vancouver, and goes over to his hotel room
5 years later in 2021 she submits an anonymous accusation to an Instagram “Survivors” page and claims she went to the police
The police say she never went to the police, but then open an investigation
She says she then sleeps in the same bed with him over night
She says she asks for a ride from Jake the next morning and “felt used for sex” when he instead gave her money for a cab
She texts him asking for tickets to a Canucks game to see him play the next day
He doesn’t give her any tickets
She buys tickets herself and goes to his game anyway
When asked if she was aware of how much money Jake made she said she had no idea how much hockey players make and didn’t think he was a big deal in the NHL
Although apparently not knowing much about hockey, it turned out she has been dating a college hockey player for the past 5 years (her own timeline would add up to her going to Jake’s hotel whilst in a relationship with this college hockey player)

INNOCENT!! She was probably waiting a few years for him to get a higher paying contract. His rookie salary wasn't enough for her. Ouch!
