Most of the people will say it better you sell body to earn money but they also have to remember the only reason country like Israel,America,India,other countries are still survive and flourishing is only because they have a strong army.

You might say that most of the war American fought were useless,than first you are wrong, it may look like it but the oil/been world leader was motive.Even then it's not the soldier who decide which country to attack it's the government.

A lot of people on here are forgetting the important detail that OF is with a couple of exceptions only an option for women and a recruit difficulty move. For all the issues that can arise from joining the military, a choice taken by an overwhelmingly male group, there can be a number of skills, knowledge and habits that can be learned in the military besides it being an experience where many form lifelong friendships and camaraderie with others. While the compensation is obviously nowhere near what top earners on OF, one could argue that the experience has much more value that can lead to better outcomes. If the monetary compensation were equal taking into account the GI bill and you were an employer looking at two resumes….
