After being in the military I should add to context. In the military rape is such a heinous crime that it is both punished to the maximum extreme possible THEN the military takes charge after that sentence is carried out to charge them under UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice) and then places the soldier into a general Courts Martial that carries FARRRRRRRRR beefier penalties to include military prison and Dishonorable Discharge (good luck EVER finding a job or assistance in life).
