One of my favorite musicians, Gus Dapperton, came out with a cover to Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide". It is quite obvious that the song is talking about the changes that comes with age and relates it to the changing seasons. But paying closer attention, you realize it's actually about fear of losing what you have with age, specifically your relationships.
Stevie Nicks wrote the song while she was in a relationship Lindsey Buckingham.
Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I've built my life around you
The "you" here refers to Lindsey, and she's afraid that whatever changes are coming could make her lose him.
But time makes you bolder
Even children get older
And I'm getting older too
Oh! I'm getting older too
Here she confirms that the "changes" she's referring to is the changing of age. She's getting old, and emphasizes it twice.
She was afraid that as she grew older, she would lose the love/attention of her partner. Unsurprisingly, that's exactly what happened.
It's funny that for how much women, specifically, empathize with this song, and how well they understand Nicks' dread of seeing herself age as she loses the interest of the man she loves, they would still refuse to admit that their age is a huge component of their sexual value.
Deep down women KNOW that age is an issue. They can feel themselves approaching The Wall easily enough, but they will never acknowledge it.
