We can't exactly see if your comments were "out of line and disrespectful", but this isn't the first time a reddit moderator has abused their power. Debating them repeatedly is an even faster ticket to permaban. Who says what's "respectful"? The mods. Because they have the power to enforce their judgement.

If you're participating in good faith, but people can't handle being "offended" or seeing opposite view points, then a valuable lesson is to make alt accounts and not give a shit if you get muted/banned.
