Of course the counterargument is "men are shamed by men and women for showing emotion." And my response: so what? If you're so tough and manly, you can deal with ridicule. But the reason a lot of men succumb to being shamed for showing emotion is because they're too weak to handle it, and they're too weak to handle it because their feelings of shame overpower them. They're too weak to say "fuck you" to people who shame them for showing how they feel.

And the venn diagram of men who say they are less emotional than women and men who get triggered over people wanting to abandon 1950's gender roles is a circle.

Also a lot of instances of men being emotional and irrational are ignored or not considered to be emotional by men. For instance, men murder their partners more than the other way around. Men commit more violent crimes. Men start more wars. That's pretty emotional behavior, but somehow it doesn't make it into the measure of who is more emotional because it doesn't include crying.
