Long time lurker, this is a throwaway.

Today was my 21st birthday celebration. My birthday was actually about 3 weeks ago, but I was out of the country so today was the first day I could celebrate. The festivities were cutshort, however by a conversation with my ex-girlfriend. I was forced to dissect and analyze the details of our break-up, and learn that only a week later she was already falling for her study partner.

This was a girl I loved for over a year, most of it long distance. We'd been through so much together, and as I read through the sidebar I would always think "not her". Some part of me knew I was wrong. Some other part of me hoped I wasn't. Now I know, she's just the same as every other woman in the world. I can't, and won't ever accept that any girl is different, no girl is somehow magically better than any other, doesn't know better, and isn't immune to biology and years of evolution.

I know this now.

The question is, where do I go from here. How do I move on, how do I become better and forget her. How do I accomplish all of my goals, and save myself from ever making the mistakes I've made my whole life again.

Any and all recommended reading and advice gladly accepted.

I don't want to simply get more girls. I want to be a man. I want to be an alpha. And I want to do it for myself.
