In GB, Sir Keir Starmer, as Director of Public Prosecutions, fiddled the figures and fudged the reporting methodology, so that male victims ended up on the statistics for 'Violence Against Women and Girls'.

I believe that it may have been the discovery of this blatant manipulation which made William Collins write 'The Empathy Gap.' The situation is certainly described within this book.
