Here in the UK, the pressure group 'Just Stop Oil' have been making a nuisance of themselves, gluing themselves to roads and overhead gantries of motorways. The BBC has broadcast footage of young, female protestors crying, saying that there will be no future for their children. As a counterpoint to the brainwashing they've been subjected to, here are some facts.

Fact#1: Carbon dioxide is a trace component of the atmosphere (0.04%), and is only just high enough to support photosynthesis, giving us plants we like to eat, and producing lots of lovely oxygen in the process. Commercial growers utilise CO2 pellets in glasshouses, to increase yields.

Fact#2: In the absence of fossil fuel, western living standards will drop by 80%. "Without oil, the planet can support only about 1/5th of the current population" -David Pimintel, Greenpeace.

Fact#3: Female fertility was always highly-prized, and has placed women on their current pedestal.

Fact#4: That fertility ain't gonna be so valued after oil disappears. That's an inconvenient fact.

Fact#5: All 'Green' organisations have their roots in Ecofeminism. Women like Sally Miller Gearhart, Daphne Patai, and Mary Daly (author of Gyn/Ecology) want to see male population reduced by 80%. Coincidence..??

Fact#6: Throwing money at some environmental 'bogeyman' confected problem was dreamed up by the Stanford Research Institute Long Term Planning Service, back in the late 1960s, as a means of artificially stimulating demand in a mature, post-industrial society. Fact#6: The smart money, like Blackrock Investments, have been quietly investing in the appropriate technologies, while putting pressure on policy makers. In GB, there is a target for 7 million domestic heat pumps to be installed in households by 2030. No new Internal Combustion Engine cars to be sold after 2030. Larry Fink and his friends want you to buy an EV, and a heat pump.

Fact#7: This technology will be dominated by China. For the past thirty years, they have been quietly gaining most worldwide mining rights to Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel and Copper, required for EV batteries.

Fact#8: 90% of the advanced semiconductors required for EVs are made in Taiwan. Guess what's gonna happen there?

Fact#9: China has no compunction about swallowing up the last of the world's fossil fuel. Since the year 2000, Chinese demand for oil has tripled, increasing from 4.7mb/day to 14.1mb/day in 2019, a jump of 9 million barrels a day. In March 2021, China promised to invest $400 Billion in Iran, in exchange for a regular supply of oil.

Fact#10: In 1999, Saddam Hussain demanded that oil from Iraq be paid for in euros. By 2002, this was having an adverse effect on the petrodollar. In 2003, there was an invasion by coalition forces [see Geoffrey Heard, www.globalpolicy for an analysis of cause and effect].

Fact#11: The oil flowing from Russia to China and India is having an adverse effect on the petrodollar. Young men may be sent to fight, and die, to support the interests of a society which doesn't seem to value them so much during peacetime, say.

Please be careful that we know what we will be asked to fight for. Maybe we should keep in mind how we are being treated presently.
