So I just saw this shite on the casualUK sub and it says it all. And all the comments were in agreement saying "yes we need to stop violence against women and girls. This ad is great" which pissed me off more for many reasons

We need to stop violence against EVERYONE not just women and girls. This whole gendered nonsense is fucking ridiculous. Why is it always "violence against women" and never "violence" in general? By singling out a particular group you are always implying that that group in particular is a special case. Same here - by singling out "violence against women and girls" they are implying that violence against women is inherently worse and violence against men either doesn't matter or isn't as serious.

They'll make excuses but let's put it plainly. It's a known fact that black people commit more violent crime than white people. Does that mean it's okay to make a "stop violence against whites" sign? Or does that sound oddly... Racist?

It is funny how it's ONLY okay to be openly bigoted when it's against men. Implying that violence against women is particularly bad is fine apparently.

The case in the fucking advert isn't even violence. He... stared at her and sat next to her? And they're talking about taking it to the police? There's literally zero violence even in the fucking case in the advert??
Men are literally the vast majority victims of violent attack victims. You'll get the "but the perpetrators are men" bullshit but that's not relevant. By that logic black on white crime should be seen as more serious than black on black crime. Once again sounds oddly racist

4) There are NO campaigns or support services for violence against men. This is the worst part I would say. If there was I'd be fine with this. But there isn't. People don't give a shit when it happens to us

This shit always makes my blood boil. It's literally singling out violence against women and girls as particularly bad. It's no different to how in 1920s America crimes against whites were seen as particularly bad. Yet people absolutely lap it up. Indeed if you try to argue against it you get people saying "what you WANT violence against women and girls".

And my days the comments on the sub. "Violence against women is awful". How about violence against everyone is awful? "It's awful what women have to go through every day"? What?? They are far less likely to experience anything bad happening. And if they do there's a million support services and white knights to back them up.

Indeed that's the part that gets me the most. Somehow those of us who point out that this is bigoted and violence against men and women should be treated equally are the evil ones. I fucking hate this planet man.
