Dating alpha widows is something that all men should avoid. A woman who is still hung over "the one who got away" - an alpha ex who left her, or who did not commit to her in the past - can never truly love you or bond with you. They will only temporarily use you to fulfill the alpha ghost's void. You may be dating for 6 months, and all it would take is ONE PHONE CALL from the alpha ghost for her to go back to him. Alpha widows project onto you the same characteristics and traits that the alpha ghost had, and expect that you live up to it, even if that's not who you are. After a period, they will start to resent you for not being him.

With all of that in mind, here are some signs that a woman is an alpha widow:

  • She constantly talks about her ex.
    This is one is a dead giveaway. If a woman keeps bringing up someone from her past - regardless if it is only in a negative way - this is a huge sign that she still not over him.Do not think, however, that a woman NOT talking about her ex is a sign that she is NOT an alpha widow. The smartest ones are able to hide it and not talk about him.
  • She praises you for treating her well.
    If she praises you for taking her to dinner, if she says things like "I love that you include me in your plans", "Are you okay with us being seen as a couple like this?", "No one's ever done this for me", and other things of the sort, she is telling you that the previous guy treated her as an afterthough, and she is possibly an alpha widow to him.
  • She asks you what did you see in her
    If a woman asks you "what did a guy like you see in me?" or "why did you decide to settle down with me?", she is telling you that someone else (the alpha ghost) decided to NOT settle down with her. She wants to understand what she did to you that she couldn't do to him; what you saw in her that he didn't.
  • She has sex with her eyes closed
    This one is NOT ALWAYS a sign that a woman is an alpha widow. Some women just naturally have their eyes closed during sex. For other women, however, it could that she is thinking about the alpha ghost while she's having sex with you (and I know this is a horrible pill for guys to swallow). Since we can't read minds, we must pay attention to the other signs in combination with this one. If they appear in clusters, it's a problem.
  • She is in therapy, but doesn't have a disorder
    In my experience, women who go to therapy but do not appear to have any mental issues or disorders are there just to try to get over their exs. Simple as that.
  • She parades you around or displays you on social media
    If she seems to want to "show you off to the whole world", if she is posting couples pictures on her Instagram too early into the relationship, if she parades you everywhere like a trophy, she probably wants word to get back to her alpha ghost in hopes that he gets jealous.
  • She has the "alpha widow shiver/shake"
    This is a crazy one which I have observed in two alpha widows. At the time, I thought they had a fever.Do you know that "shiver" reaction you do with your head when you try to shake an intrusive thought? Imagine some really undesirable thought, like seeing vivid images of your grandparents having sex. That's the shake alpha widows do when they are with you and are intruded with visions of the alpha ghost. Keep a look out for this one.
  • She seems to be more attracted to you in a specific look
    Once again, this one cannot be used by itself to determine if a woman is an alpha widow or not. It must be examined in combination with the other signs.If she suddenly becomes more attracted to you when you are sporting a very specific look - for example, when you are wearing green boxers, or when you turn your hat backwards - things that are really specific and small - it could mean that her alpha ghost used to dress like that.
