My son and ex have a legal child custody agreement in order. Now, 4 months after it was finalized, his ex wants more custody. She sent him a Stipulation & Order Re: Custody/Parenting time. “This letter shall be an attempt to meet and confer per the Code of Civil Procedure prior to filing a Request for Order for Modification of Child Custody and Visitation”

She hired a lawyer to do this. My son does not agree and has not replied.

Does anyone have advice on what will happen if he does not respond. I’ve been trying to find information in regards to what happens next.

If he doesn’t reply does it go to the courts and in her favor? Is this the first step in getting a court date or is she simply hoping he sign it and she gets what she wants?

Any advice would be great. This is in California
