Have a court date next month with my son's mother. I've already submitted the longer version of the story elsewhere and I suppose my question really doesn't need a detailed backstory. We're going to court because the police couldn't clearly define the aggressor. Very well could be because our stories didn't match and I had visible markings from her. Either way, google didn't really help me find an answer to my situation. I've never been arrested or convicted of anything. I've been to traffic court once but it was thrown out. I don't do drugs, I rarely even drink, and I'm not a violent person. We have a son that she is the primary custodian of due to us not being married and my name not being on the birth certificate. I'm worried that because of what she says, I could possibly face jail time, get a permanent record, lose all access to my son, etc etc. My mind is racing with the possible outcomes right now and I'm looking for some kind of realistic expectation.
