Even as a MRA I don't really think VAWA is the cause I would put more of the problems on drugs and our criminal justice system combined with systematic poverty and the need to provide for your family even when you have no solid means to do so.

IMHO, Detroit is a preview of things to come for many other US cities just as the decline of minority families is a preview of what's coming for families in general.

Welfare destroyed the black family, not VAWA. VAWA came about long after most of the damage was done. We raised the minimum wage, threw black men out of work, and then told black women that men were unnecessary, and gave them the option to marry the State, instead. Economics and unintended consequences.
