Sorry to hear about your friend . False rape claims are devastating no matter what the age .

Before I knew him, my best friend was falsely accused when he was 19 and no one believed he was innocent , his own parents just kept going on about how he embarrassed the family, female friends disowned him and male friends made joke about it at his expense. Thankfully his parents assisted him with money for a lawyer in fighting the charges. He told me it was his plan that no matter what the out come of the court case he was going to kill himself afterward , he felt that if he did it before that it would only confirm to people that he had done it . What saved him was at a court date for motions to be heard a Police officer came over to him ( because they were shocked at how much weight that he had lost in mean time ) he told him that the girl had made false complaints in the past and his lawyer should look in to it . To my friend it was not winning the case it was that some one believed him that he had done nothing wrong that gave him any hope in life that he clung on too . Needless to say his entire life had changed and his relation ship with his parents basically ended
