Makes total sense, throw someone in jail because they have no money to pay. Then next time he sees the judge, he still has still has no money, because he can't work, because he was in jail, so he goes back to jail.

Debtors prison is alive and well.

In, the full-length version of the video, there's something noteworthy. Joe is the Defendant, representing himself as his own lawyer because he's broke and can't afford a real lawyer. Over at the Plaintiff's table, however, are three attorneys. His ex-wife has her own personal attorney (and I bet Joe has paid for that lawyer, one way or another!). But there's also an attorney there from the state's Attorney General's office, and a lawyer from the Department of Child Support Enforcement. So, the wife gets three lawyers, most or all of them for free. And poor Joe is over there, by himself, trying to make legal arguments. He didn't have a chance. Does the court give one shit about Due Process? What do you think? I think the Judge was writing up his incarceration order ten minutes before the hearing began.
