Despite being the victim of assault and domestic mischief, my wife spending the night in jail, and her threatening her own life- my attorney wasn't able to stop her attorney from reversing the protection order I got for my daughter which gave me temporary custody. My wife lied and said she was still breastfeeding and that was all the judge appeared to need to hear.

I don't have anymore faith in my attorney. She's been practicing family law for nearly 20 years and just seems to be phoning it in. I found her through the state bar association and she honestly seemed a lot more capable than the other two attorneys I met when deciding who to hire.

I don't have a lot of money, but I'm willing to spend it all on an attorney who wants to win. My wife held one 8yr old daughter hostage while she attacked me while I held and protected our 1yr old daughter. It's true she has no history of violence, but I don't think it'd be in my daughters best interest to live with such a terrible and reckless person or for me to have to make important decisions about our daughter with her mother.

So, how do I do it? I doubt the bar association let's you filter attorneys by "aggressiveness".
