There have actually been a fair number of Europeans in the film industry who have condemned MeToo. Ian Mckellen, Catherine Deneuve, legendary film directory Michael Haneke etc. Stateside, Matt Damn tried to introduce some sense into the conversation but was told to STFU. Some feminists even absurdly called him a "misogynist."

Why haven't any libertarians said

A fair number of libertarians on the right have condemned MeToo. Actually a fair number of radical leftists have done so too -- mostly from the "old left" (eg at Spiked, Counterpunch, World Socialist Website).

Politicians are mostly spineless twats, as we all know. Clinton and Trump are both vulnerable because in addition to their philandering and accusations of sexual assault they had eyebrow-raising friendships with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Clinton in particular took about two dozen trips on Epstein's private jet "the lolita express."

What this most closely resembles is the McCarthy era, which combined extrajudicial, administrative and judicial punishments on the basis of very little evidence or simply on the basis of arguing against the practices themselves.

People are really scared of this movement, and are very much afraid that they're going to end up on the wrong end of a (metaphorical) pitchfork. Because I'm also afraid, I've lurked and lurked on the edges of these issues for years (MeToo is just the latest embodiment of backlash in this space). And even though I've decided to jump into the discussion, I'm doing my best to do so pseudonymously.

It's probably worthwhile to take a look at what eventually led to the end of the McCarthy era -- my vague recollection is that it eventually burned out through its own hubris and excesses, but it's worth revisiting it.

Because think like a politician ( or a highly exposed man ) what gives you power and your seat is the people and the people don't like rapists, and since in public eye and accusation is equal to a definitive sentence, just one girl saying you have groped her is enough to throw all your achievements to the wind. Now think what a nazi feminist will do the exact same second you say that #metoo is bs in many many cases, she will denounce you or she will write to the X journalist that will obviously use that to write a big and accusing article. Now you are less valuable than bs. Do you think that someone would do that?

It will burn out eventually, bit the damage it does to men's ability to trust women will take more then my life time to heal completely barring the sigularity of course.
