I love how quick the article is to try and calm you down and stop you from being worried about false claims.

The reality is that false claims are filed all of the time, it’s just hard to prove that the person intentionally lied and didn’t just report a true crime with little evidence to back their accusations up.

I would encourage people here not to leap to conclusions about her guilt, just as they would not leap to conclusions about the guilt of those she accused.

However, this is bullshit:

Rapes are rarely falsely reported, research has shown. About 2 to 10 percent of sexual assault claims are found false, according to the National Sexual Violence Research Center and The National Center for the Prosecution of Violence Against Women.

Those are only the most conservative research numbers we have for false reports, and include only those who have admitted to filing a false report with the police. False accusations that are disproven, but don't come with admissions of guilt aren't counted in those statistics, and they very likely amount to the majority of false claims, so the real proportion could be 2-3 times larger.

I wonder is we'd be tossing around words like "rarely" if women were being falsely accused of horrible crimes at 10% rates.
