His conviction was quashed in 2016 and in January 2018, a High Court judge said his accuser had made "false allegations... to seek personal attention and drama."

Unbelievable. I hope he sues and wins.

Dorset Police said the investigation was "very thorough and detailed" and that it had been deemed there was "sufficient evidence" to prosecute.

It wasn't thorough enough to discover that the pool table the fantasist accused the victim of raping him over wasn't even in the pub at that time. It wasn't thorough enough that the victim's wife did a better job at investigating than a team of professionals with their hands tied by the CPS could.
