"Survival mode" is how women describe those days, and sometimes weeks, by themselves, with the husband away. They talk of "holding the fort". Highly educated women feel like they are literally battling for their survival. Biologically, they are

This is an indication of how dependent women are on men, and she's overlooking all the single mothers that "don't need no man" and all the men who not only survive by themselves but do so after losing all their net worth and are still paying child support, alimony and dealing with a legal system biased against them at every stage.

The fact that she feels entitled to be cold, distant and abusive on his return shows how weak the man is being. He's tolerated her behaviour and thus it continues. u/aDrunkenWhaler has it right: the first time it happens you silently turn around and leave for a few days. She'll be happy as a lark the next time you get home from a trip.

Yes exactly.. this is the way we are wired through evolution. To change this or to actualize 'i need no man' will take another century or more.

4 generations isn't enough to make genetic impact

This seems interesting and goes with the RP principle - STFU if your partner throws you a fit.

If you come home after a few weeks or months away for work, and she starts a fight moments after, you pick up the bag you left at the door and leave for a few days. No explanations. It will only happen once.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Yes just STFU and let your partner cheat on you and try to cause an fit so she can justify it.

No thanks. Break up with her the moment she acts weird from a trip. And don't ever speak to her ever again.

Attachment theory is really strong stuff. It takes ages to modify, even if you are acutely aware of it. It takes a lot of significant effort to rewire, but it can be done.

I have successfully accomplished this.... shit, wait..

Easy way. Repeatedly say "I don't need (insert whatever is bothering you here)." A BILLION times.

Go exercise, and stay away from drugs.

But when your partner comes home, unconscious fears are activated: You don't love me anymore, I am not lovable, and others are more interesting than I am.

Sounds a lot like projection.

Can you expand on what you mean?

Women are hypergamous, and are ruled by emotions. They are likely to project their own hypergamy onto men as well. Have you ever had a girl ask you “why are you with me? Arn’t there better out there?”
