I don't know if it's a universal thing but in my country young men freshly graduated from college are expected to fully support themselves, and also collect enough money to support marriage life. Women however have it different, because their fathers are expected to support them till they are married. In fact if a father is letting his daughter support herself he will be belittled & emasculated by the society, because the society is still conservative. Even if a young women has a full time high paying jobs she is expected to save that money or spend it on accessories while her father supports her.

... women on the other hand have the same access to work force, and have equal rights to work as men, because the system is secular/feminism dominated.

The sum value of this is ... for example a fresh graduate from pharmacy school has many jobs opportunities. One is working in a community pharmacy which is a high paying job, but no career in it, and it's not satisfying.

The other is working in manufacturing, which has a great career but tbe starting wages are low.. A lot of my male college want to start a career there, but they can't affort 2 years of being getting paid low wages..guess who can afford this

The other option is working as a clinical pharmacist, this field is almost dominant by females.. because after college you will not be even getting low payment.. you will be paying for internship / residency programs and paying for the university credit hours you are required to take in the field of specialty you want (oncology/ nuclear etc ).. i remember when i went for a hospital training and all the staff working in the clinical pharmacy department were females.
