The circumstances of the crime befit the charge unfortunately.. Though I am sure other charges could- and should- be tacked on. This could be construed as torture, or as kidnapping; but as the article suggests, this woman was a care giver and I suspect is family as they withheld her last name to protect the child...

We all know how this would have gone had the accused been a man.
