Teenage fan with raunchy username about boy band member: writes 5,000-word reader-insert fanfiction about having sex with boy band member who's barely sixteen, posts it as a youtube video with "21+" in the title for her "20k subscriber special," gets tens of thousands of views
Boy band: briefly mentions their ideal types of women in an interview or has the lyrics "women are a gift" in a song not half as bad as what most western rappers sing about
Same fan: What how dare they?! This is so misogynistic and sexist! *starts crying* Objectifying women is wrong!
I'm into my first band and I see examples of this everywhere; they were even persuaded to change the lyrics to the song recently even though it's been around for a few years. However, is this a pussy pass or just a double standard? Sorry if this seems unimportant; I just wanted to see if anyone else noticed.
