My ex and I work in the same place and eventually she broke up with me. It was messy for a good while and 1-2 months after we split she ended up in a rebound relationship with someone in the same place we worked in.

It was honestly one of the worst times for my mental health. Constantly anxious and I felt horrible thinking of things I could’ve done differently. Coworkers would tease and bully me (that’s just the culture I guess) while I had to force myself to be okay with what happened.

I decided to really cut myself off with the help of the pandemic and I haven’t seen her in a year. However, she still found a way to make my life hell. She took an out of context post on Twitter and used it to ‘cancel’ me. It ruined my reputation and I’m now seen as the “bitter ex” when I really just wanted my peace.

I’m in a happy relationship now with someone who’s good to me however to this day she still finds a way to involve herself in my life and it’s honestly terrifying. I just want my peace. I know some things can be undone. I have every reason to resent and hate her but I want to find my way to peace. I want to forgive everyone for not knowing the full story.

I’m in a better place now than I am before. I’m with someone who really cares about me and supports me. However I’m still living in fear and in silence.
