First of all, sorry for my english — I'm from Brazil and I'm 15 years old.
Here in Brazil and, as far as I know, in some Latin American countries, we have a kind of law that in practice detains men for longer if the person murdered is a woman — and it's called 'femicide'. Brazilian feminists in general defend the idea that femicide only arrests those who kill a woman simply because she is a woman — and that's their defenition of the term in general. In my opinion, I find this law somewhat confusing in practice and I admire how there is no parallel version of it for men. What do you think about it? How this idea is spread in english-speaking countries?
