So long story short, I’m an aspiring writer and I sent my latest short story to one of my teachers I have a good relationship with. The themes and reasons aren’t relevant, point is, it ends with him getting jnto a woman’s car and the woman rapes him (a virgin). My only fear regarding the scene was that I went overboard with the “torture porn” and emphasized the psychological and physical pain of the main character to redundncy. Turns out I was wrong. In his reply, my teacher complimented how I wrote the scene and wrote something along the lines of “...the mixture of pain, fear and the pleasure/enjoyment of the moment” I tried so hard to make the pain and disgusting nature of the act apparent that I feared I went overboard, but it seems it’s still not enough. Why do people have this inherent bias that men must always want and enjoy sex, even if it’s against their will? Side note: he definitely wasn’t talking about the woman’s pleasure/enjoyment, since I made it very clear that she didn’t enjoy it in the conventional way either and sexual pleasure wasn’t the motivating factor in the act in order to make it realistic.
