One of the issues that men face in everyday life is getting wolf-whistled and cat-called on the street on a daily basis. All men experience this, frequently, and it is absolutely one of the most degrading things that can happen to a man.
I know a guy who was walking down the street when a young woman walked up and asked if she could grab his junk through his sweatpants. When did women grow so bold and entitled to ask, out of the blue, if they could touch a man like that?
I'll be walking with my headphones in, head down, and suddenly have a woman run up to me and make me take them out. Then she'll ask me what time it is despite the fact that she's wearing a watch. It's disgusting.
I think there needs to be specific legislation to stop this, with specific protections towards men and taxpayer money dedicated to the investigation and prevention for victims, along with the prosecution of victims. We should begin lobbying aggressively for it, maybe even calling it the Stop Street Harassment of Men Initiative (SSHMI).
