The woman who posted has a lot of integrity and I fully respect her for this. Sometimes relationships just break down for a variety of different reasons, none of which are even closely related to domestic violence or abuse. For the ones that do break down because of this, yes, victims (both male and female) do need support, but what she's saying about this is very true.

If you trivialize a serious issue by making false accusations simply because of greed and then abuse the system that's in place to receive "support" that you dont deserve and this gets found out, this will make it very hard for future genuine victims to get support. This is what we're already seeing with rape investigations and the pandemic of false accusations - it is slowly but surely getting harder for real victims to be believed because there is a very real possibility that she is lying. It is a very sad and sick state of affairs, but women created this problem, so now its up to them to fix it - and this one is going about this the right way.

This is common practice in India. Lawyers advise women who seek divorce to accuse the husband of domestic violence or dowry harassment or adultery.
