Well this is standard procedure as we've seen, it must be the man's fault she cheated. Oh the man must have done something in the relationship to make her turn away like that. Nah, forget about the fact that she lied to her entire family and covered up an affair in this scenario because DNA doesn't lie it must be something the man did.

Forget about DNA, this is also why I think marital status should be abolished when it comes to the law. There's a greater legal implication when it comes to DNA tests that governments need to acknowledge and that is the fact that the mother in this situation has knowingly committed long term paternity fraud. Let's say that a mother is an immigrant for example from another country, marries a citizen and lied about cheating to him. If she breaks up with the husband over something else and takes the child with her doesn't that mean she has not only committed fraud but if she claims benefits as a single mother she is not only not really qualified to be a citizen she shouldn't be getting any of that money or benefits from the government because she lied about everything in the first place and committed fraud against the government the father belongs to as well?

I wonder if this is the reason there's barely any reform in these areas. The politicians and legal staff probably already know what a clusterfuck scenario this would be and don't want to have to deal with the fall out. It would also go some way to explaining why there's little to no activism when it comes to family custody. Better to just sweep it all under the rug rather than risk pissing off such a huge chunk of the population even though it could mean a large number of women who have done this are going to be implicated as not just liars to their family but con artists.

I'm being pessimistic as fuck here but I think this is why this generation is often considered beyond saving and I don't necessarily blame people for feeling this way. This is why it's so important to make sure the next generations are properly educated on their rights and do DNA tests regardless. Even if we can't advocate for legal change we can at least make sure individuals take proper steps to protect themselves.

I can tell you now after the stories I've heard I would get a DNA test regardless if a girl I was with claimed she was pregnant and I don't care how pissed off she would get at me. I'm not going to spend however many years raising a kid that isn't mine only to have the woman ditch me anyway because she knows she was lying like so many stories I've heard of.
