Hello men. I would like to give you some tips on how to help yourself with domestic violence when it comes to the legal aspect of it. As a woman I know how easily we can get away with blaming you for it and the legal system will greatly prefer us over you which is horseshit because domestic violence is still violence no matter what gender the victim is. So here are my tips...

  1. If she is hitting you (this may be difficult and sound shitty) but do not hit her back if possible. Just try to subdue her if it’s an option.

Yes she hit first, but many people will still take her side because you are naturally physically stronger. You will hold up a lot better in court if you can avoid hitting back. If she has any bruises she might claim you attacked her first and the court will probably blindly believe her. If you are in danger though and need to fight back absolutely do so.

  1. Text a trusted friend or family member when the abuse occurs.

They can help vouch for you and you’ll have a correct time frame of when the abuse occurred. Also if they show up to your location and see abuse happen they can be a great witness.

  1. Record it. This will help you out the most. Do not hold the camera in front of her face, but have your phone or camera recording where she won’t notice it.

If she notices you recording she might stop and leave you little evidence of the assault. Also if the camera is placed where both of you are in frame this will give you more leverage.

  1. Call the police. When you have your evidence it’s time to act and get yourself out of that horrible situation.

With evidence on the spot when they show up she will likely be arrested and you can then take her to court. I would recommend a restraining order right away. If she doesn’t follow the restraining order she will again be in more trouble and it will be even more clear who the real abuser is in the situation.
