I think being in a relationship can "potentially" be better than being single, if you have exactly the right person that thinks like you, and lets you do everything in life that you want.

But most times it's a compromise between what you have to do and what you want to do.

And if you're a "provider" with children then forget it, you better be working your ass off, and your honey-do list is 3 miles long, you literally have NO time to do ANYTHING, plus all of the aforementioned legal risks of divorce, child custody and all of that pretty much puts the nail in the coffin.

I love being alone. I can do whatever I want, when I want. But oftentimes I get lazy or stuck in Dota or Civ V loops, which eat up days at a time. Having someone to joke with, touch, and convince you to go out and do things when you'd be perfectly happy gaming from when you get home from work till bed is good for your soul. Less so for ones wallet, but honestly it almost entirely depends on the kind of girl you can pull. Don't forget Rule #1: Be attractive.
