The housing market is an absolute joke in the UK and I'm not surprised to see it's the same in Ireland, it is an artificially inflated bubble where tons of people are pouring their money into the market as a long term investment. In order to keep making money, they have to have the prices high which of course means that younger people especially can't afford to get onto the property ladder creating this endless cycle so it's no surprise to me that there's a growing homeless problem in these sorts of cities but even on the fucking outside in the UK the housing prices are still stupid.

I'm pretty lucky with my situation but even I'm looking at it purely from a financial standpoint where it would actually be cheaper for me to go to a country like Japan away from all this crap. Learn the language and assimilate there than deal with the ridiculous housing prices.

It's the same if you moved to America, the average cost of a frankly crappy little terraced house with barely any space is enough to get you a fully detached house elsewhere. I've done a lot of research into this and the best fucking part about how the media especially reports on this stuff is when they look at Brexit and go "Housing prices will drop by 30%" and so on as if that's a bad thing.

They don't understand how high the cost of living is here for young people, the most I have been able to come up with as a potential long term option purely from a logical standpoint is to buy some land potentially to build on in the future and just live in a caravan. Not really the greatest option, it's entirely doable but when you realise you could just leave and buy a detached house right away and live very comfortably elsewhere what's the point?

The big cities are always pretty shit places to live in the UK but the fact that you don't even have an option or moving further away to towns on the outskirts anymore is just idiotic and the places that are cheap have absolutely nothing in them or are crime ridden.

I thought I might give people in the UK some perspective on this if they were at all interested as again, I've been doing a heavy amount of research into this because of my own plans to live independently. Again I have to stress, ridiculously. It's cheaper for me to learn another language and simply leave because of the cost of living in this country, that's how bad it is right now.

Oh and I know Dublin is in the Republic of Ireland before anyone gets on at me :P but the living standards and stuff are very much the same across the area.

THE SHORTAGE OF housing in Dublin city is leaving people “stuck in homelessness” as one charity reports an 18% drop in move-ons from its services.

In its annual report, published today, Depaul said 636 people moved on from services in 2018, compared to 774 the previous year.

Depaul CEO David Carroll said it is “incredibly frustrating” when the charity has helped people to a point where they are ready to live independently “only to find they have nowhere to go”.

“The lack of housing supply is stymieing people’s ability to move on from homelessness. It is disheartening for everybody involved, particularly when our aim is to end homelessness and see people living back in their communities,” he said.

The number of single people in homelessness currently is 3,945. In December 2014 the number of single homeless people stood at 2,310. This represents a 70% increase in single homeless people in that period.

A recent study into why people are becoming homeless and accessing emergency accommodation carried out by Depaul revealed that 86% of those surveyed were first time homeless.

Of those surveyed:

60% were male;

81% of those males were single (not in a relationship);

77% cited a one-bed property as their ideal accommodation.

The average rent for a one bed apartment in Dublin is around €1,500, according to the latest Daft.ie report but those looking to access housing assistance payment (HAP) are entitled to just €990 per month.

Depaul said this means the main mechanism currently being used to house single homeless people is not working.

I believe I discovered something today thats pretty big, and an issue men are going to face a LOT more of in our struggle for genuine equality-

News was revealed , for the first time, that showed that choices over homeless benefits, such as welfare help, or temporary housing offers, are no longer being made by humans.

They are already, and have been for some time, made by ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. -NOT A JOKE-.

What does this have to do with mens rights? Well, the thing is, these computer programes that are deciding who gets the money, men or women, have been designed by humans originally, so will have been programmed to make value judgements-that is, to award 'virtual points' to people, SPECIFICALLY BASED ON THEIR GENDER ALONE.

But rules say we are not allowed to investigate this bias or find out about the softwares design-and before you think this isnt big, let me tell you that this is being used across America and Britain already, and by the BIGGEST global credit agencies, and banks, and by local government and councils to decide who gets help, who doesnt, who qualifies for rehousing and who gets made homeless.

And we KNOW far more men are made homeless, and women get prioritised for housing and domestic abuse help than men do-now that human bias has been hard coded into software and we arent even allowed to investigate it, and obviously cant debate it or change its mind.

Now here's where its a far bigger issue for all men soon-such programming gender bias against the 'worth' of men, is currently also being hardcoded into gradually EVERY area of our lives.

Google have already been questioned over their search results.

But a big one is this-cars that can fully drive themselves. These are being coded with a bias that says that, in the event of a crash, a mans life is worth less than a womans, so if the car has to choose between an equal chance of ploughing into a crowd of three women or a crowd of three men, it will choose to hit the group of three men.

Worse still, there's talk of even worse bias where even if it had a chance of avoiding the group of women if it headed that way, it would still head into the group of men due to computational weighting points awarded to women for simply being women. In other words, a mans life will be given such a low value that the car may choose to hit one rather than even a RISK of hitting or grazing a woman.

Technology is evolving fast. The economic situation globally is so bad that every corporation is looking to AI as its great saviour in cutting costs (and firing its pesky human workers with their needs, and toilet breaks and rights and unions). But at what cost to men when these systems will have inbuilt misandrist bias hardwired into their real time, life or death decision making....?
