It's a single sentence, "he touched my kid" or "he touched me" and you lose nearly everything. And worse, she's always going to put her kid ahead of your relationship, which is not the optimal arrangement for managing a family. Just like this guy.

Absolutely do not get back with her. Ghost her entirely, along with anyone you met through her. This didn't come out of nowhere, the child learned it somewhere, and the likely place is his mother.

Protect yourself. I cannot imagine choosing to be anywhere near a kid who lied in that way. Even though kids do not get the consequences of their actions, most kids would not dream of making false accusations. I would probably never feel safe anywhere near that kid again.

He's asking what road to take ahead. He loves the woman and her son, but the consequences have been way too hard for him to simply act like nothing happened. The boy that accused him did so out of fear, he was indeed molested but by another kid, he was afraid so lied when pressured about it.

Is it reasonable to forgive a seven-year old boy who was violated, and lied to not be hurt again because he didn't understand the consequences? Certainly. Children make mistakes. The problem here has to do with the company and society.

If you blindly go for the torches and pitchforks without even looking at the facts - this is what happens. If a company doesn't care about the people that they consist of and do anything to act honourably, then they the are also part of the causes to his ruin.

As far as woman goes, she should have confronted him first, she owes him that much at least. If things still didn't clear up, then calling police is inevitable.

What should reasonably follow:
- The company he works for acts honourably
- The woman, and the parents of that 12-year old issue a public apology to vindicate him
- The police flag him as innocent publically (with details)
- He should forgive the boy - because he was a scared seven-year-old that is now showing regret, he loves them and wants to be with them, and they want to be with him - no one is helped by their parting.

Most people are ok and actually trying to help him It sucks for the kid but I agree with you it's not the dude's responsibility to make the child feel better specially now that the case is being investigated he Should just keep a distance.

Had a buddy whose half-sister accused him of having a sexual relationship with her. She was 15, he was 17 or 18, the girl was his mother's daughter and he hadn't seen his mother since he was a little kid. Had never met his half-siblings till like 6 months prior. He had responded to his mom's attempt to reach out, and was living there (across the country from any other family) because he wanted to get to know his mom and that side of his family. The girl 'disclosed' to a neighbor that was watching her and the other, younger, half-siblings. The neighbor called the cops, buddy got forced in to take a polygraph. Passed it, if I recall. The girl was troubled, had been attention-seeking, and mom and step-dad didn't really believe her story...but they were being threatened by cops/CPS that if they allowed my friend to continue living there, all of the kids would be removed.

There's absolutely no defense for the lying sister, but his mom and step-dad weren't really given any choice in his being treated like a criminal, or in making him leave. The mom in this story may have been similarly pressured. That kid is also too young to truly understand the consequences of what he said, and was most likely terrified of the cousin.

It's a crap situation all around, and that guy definitely did the right thing in breaking it off, but the shittiest bit of this story is that it's unlikely that the chi-mo cousin won't face consequences for what he did, and will almost certainly do it again, if not yo this kid then to another.

There a power dramatic between the son and his mother. The mother has the power to make the sons life hell due to the lack of children rights. I not saying that it impossable for the child to be just as manipulative as the mother but we dont know the full story.

In order to truly love and respect another person, you first have to love and respect yourself. It would completely lack any self respect if you returned to that situation.

Even if we accept that she did what she had to do under the circumstances (which doesn't sound unreasonable) it doesn't mean that the damage isn't done and it would be ok to return. It is not your fault nor your responsibility that prior to meeting you her taste in men left a lot to be desired. Assuming she lives in a town/city with a library, it is not your fault or responsibility she chose to make a baby with a person ill suited for father hood. (Libraries have books that explain where babies come from-just in case she wasn't aware of where they came from)

Best of luck but in order to have self respect you need to ghost her and move on.
