It's always about the money. The same thing when people ask about why women get custody of the kids the majority of the time...it makes more money.

It makes sense money is a key motivator that should be obvious. Countries that have socialised healthcare systems have virtually all withdrawn funding for non therapeutic circumcision. As a consequence circumcision rates plummet to the point of abandonment.

The same is experienced in the US in the states that don’t offer coverage.

The cost of the procedure when covered by insurance is irrelevant to the parent because they are not paying out of pocket so is not even a consideration.
