You know that feeling when you saw something you simply couldnt believe? Yep that just happened. I ll explain.
I just came across the usual video by a 'modern feminist' showing what would happen if she said what she really thought, while at work. Predictably, it s the usual passive aggressive 'I can't believe you get paid more than me' or 'who s making the drinks - oh it s me as always isn't it?'. And of course it s always aimed at her male colleagues (big surprise there eh?)
Then there s the ever so subtle comments. The ladies in the chat have of course come up with the usual Mean Girls - style snipes. Take these glowing examples:
"The 1950 s are paging you"
"You must support a more niche market: tone deaf males locked in a has-been era. You ll go far I'm sure"
One guy is bravely taking them on (and trust me, this guy deserves a medal for using common sense). He told them to basically grow the F- up. And they came back at him with even more nasty (and threatening to do him out of a job) remarks.
Now this sounds like your typical Twitter rant, right? Another sudreddit perhaps? Right at home on Buzzfeed I'm sure. Or maybe even a YouTube video, you might think.
But oh no, this video and the stupid comments were on freaking LINKEDIN! Yes that s right: LINKEDIN!! The one place where everyone s meant to be professional (well at least I thought). If you want to see grown women acting like children, by all means take a look (it s probably gone viral already - just search 'if women were honest at work')
And after all this they wonder why they don't get the dream job and promotion. Gosh let me think. Maybe their attitude has something to do with it.
Just a thought.
