I'd like to say that you're right. Those who we're so mad at feminism being so unfair, you're right. Women really don't feel loved if the man doesn't bring money to the table. At this momen, I watched a video digest of a celebrity in America and celebrity in the Philippines breaking up. It was said that the Filipino wife is pursuing deportation of her husband for having no work. They aren't technically married so she's deporting her "husband" back to States probably out of rage. She had lots of exposure and interviews regarding her breakup but she wasn't really clear about it. It could be I'm simply retarded or the woman simply is exploiting her rights to oppress him. She said that she's doing it for all the children and mothers but she didn't even claim domestic abuse or violence against women and children. The only thing mentioned in the video digest is that she said the guy has not worked for more than 5 years and not a single cent went to child support.
As someone who likes to genderbend the situation, this setup would be fine if men does the work and women stays behind as a housewife. It may be logical to reason that women are supposed to be housewives because of the hardships of childbearing, but if we were take feminists' "women are strong even after giving birth - can work" reasoning then being a stay-home-mom is a social and economic decision of a family unit. Every household is different, I know. Such decision may vary but it feels absurd that she's raging against her husband for being jobless. They're both actors and if his popularity isn't a hit in the States, she had all the resources in the world to make him popular in the Philippines. In the video discussing their breakup, cheating wasn't even mentioned. They publicized their breakup but they're holding back with the details as to why the guy is a bad person. They're attacking him by court and using his unemployment (he uses work visa I think) to be deported. The court will only look at the situation as work visa issue and not family issue. They have a kid together so him being deported will only lead to him not having custody. In the video digest of this issue, they also included an old interview of her talking about her relationship with the guy and she made it seem that the guy is respectful and family-oriented.
Sidenote: Going back to the subject title, I now agree to this point. Personally, being in a homosexual relationship(I'm bi), I also learned that I would really prefer not doing office work or any work at all so I guess if I were to be in a relationship with a man, financial stability will be a huge deal for me. I don't think I'd be that petty to deport my partner but I think the guy in the news still have rights to his daughter and to the work he tries to create on Youtube (it was also mentioned that they have a shared YouTubechannel as a couple that she also tries to get). Sometimes, men doesn't go lucky on work. The guy was said to be a celebrity but I personally don't know him nor his youtube channel with his wife. If these things were to happen to me, I hope I dont get a husband like his wife. I don't want a partner to undermine me for being jobless or getting my youtube earnings no matter how small it makes.
Tldr; I find it unfair and terrifying that women can weaponize law against their partners for a failed relationship.
