I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.
I just wanted to get opinions on a certain situation I'm having with women.
So, I'm a college student, and last week I signed up for some psychology course for an elective. I met some girl through a group project and got her number. Everything went well. I made her laugh. I felt that I had pre-selection on my side. And I ran into her randomly on campus the following day and she seemed genuinely happy to see me, like seeing a long time friend. Anyways, I took this as a good sign. I text her later in the week to see if she wanted to grab a drink and she completely ghosts me.
I think that this situation in addition to others has made me realize that regardless of what I do with the majority of women I'll be friend-zoned based on how I look and not what I do. I'm confusing attraction with her wanting a new orbiter, and this happens time and time again. This is just one story of many "I'm sorry I lead you on" stories. I've had a girl look me dead in the eye at 1 AM at a bar, ask me if I wanted to leave, come to my apartment, make out with me on my couch, leave, and then the next morning send a "sorry I lead you on" text.
Maybe I'm aiming too high? Maybe I want what I can't have?
I'm not sure how to escape this because I have a feeling that these judgements are made based on how I look and not anything that I'm doing.
I'm leaning towards the conclusion that there's something about my face that says "friend zone me." And I'm not being tongue-in-cheek when I say that. The only good thing about this situation with dumb-bitch-number-whatever is that I realized what was happening as soon as I got ghosted. Maybe I keep confusing being a hunk with "this girl just wants another orbiter."
