I'm watching "Spiderman: No Way Home".. you know, the one where multiverses collide and all three of Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and of course Tobey Maguire, team up as multiple versions of Spiderman to defeat the bad guys.

I'm not really a comic book or superhero fan at all, but there was something in that particular movie that really connected with me, enough to want to watch it again anyway.

It's how, when the three Peter Parkers get together, it's their bond. Even though they're kinda the same guy with a lot of similarities, they're actually unique individuals with different qualities, hopes, needs, and dreams. One of them referred to each other as brothers.

I've felt that in my life, but really infrequently, and as time has gone on, less and less frequently, even with my own blood brother. I miss it, that bond. Knowing like, even when the shit hits the fan, you'll have each others' backs. Its a kind of bond I could never have with a woman. I think society as a whole has lost this, and it's such a shame. I think the loss of this is why so many men are lonely and suicidal. We miss each other.

Do we need a war to get back the camaraderie of being in the trenches together? I hope not.
