I was at a party and talking with some people. A girl randomly walked up to me and said my jacket looks like shit while I was having a conversation with another girl.

Can you clarify:

Had you met this girl before?
Had you interacted with her at the party before this?
Was she friends with the girl that you were talking to?
What was going on before that?
Had you met the girl you were talking to before that?

This was just you an intentionally turning a molehill into a mountain.

This girl walked up and acted rudely.

Think this through: exactly how does this reflect on you?

Apparently my friend overheard that she and the group made fun of me behind my back afterwards.

It's possible that the girl was just bailing out her friend, if you had just met her and it was going more poorly than you realized.

That would be the main explanation why the group would join in making fun of you: as an answer to an awkward situation if you were trying to pick up on that girl and it was going awkwardly.
