Boise is a college town. Lots of opportunities there.

Keep in mind you have other areas of your life besides pickup, and unless you're big into winter sports, I think Boise would have much more to offer. Boise metro area is ~100x the size of Aspen. So yeah you don't have the constant influx and outflux of tourists, but Boise is hardly the sticks, and scores high on livability indexes. There would be much more nightlife and concerts, especially during the spring and summer because:
Aspen may be great in the winter months, but it's a tourist town, and thus offseason is much much slower.

Boise's healthcare is ass, but other than that it's great.
