In my experience, that doesn’t work out very well. If I do meet someone that I’m genuinely interested in, they aren’t seeing a very good version of me. Not that I want to hide that I have ups and downs, but there is only one chance to make a good first impression.
Also, sometimes I come across a genuinely nice person that means well and want to be helpful, despite having just met me. In a case like that, I don’t typically want to discuss deeply personal issues with someone I just met.
I’ve learned that for me, it’s better to wait until I’m feeling better before trying to meet new people.
Best wishes to you

Yes, fake it for 10 mins that you are a happy go lucky guy and when some beautiful girl smiles at you and is interested in going out all your depression will disappear.

Try seeking out someone who's willing to share your stories n theirs. It can be a fulfilling activity for the both of you. Just don't expect anything. Care for mental health.
