Yea it’s not better to ignore him though and that would give me some pause just because she most likely likes the attention from him since she wanted a relationship with him. So there’s ways to go about it, without making it a big deal. You can talk to him about it man to man, without her even knowing, then see what happens. If he tells her behind your back and she confronts you about it then you have a problem, but you dont need some dude your girl used to date trying to get her attention. He might just be jealous of your relationship or something and might not even realize hes doing it, if its not a big deal he will stop once you mention it.
