If you're car isn't dead, then don't accept. Look at used Japanese cars they run well over 150k miles on the clock. Start saving for one of these, learn how to negotiate for cars.

Personally I don't lend anything over £100 to non-family members. It always muddys the waters when you see them spending money on non-essentials.

First priority is getting your finances in shape, as if you don't you'll be playing at a disadvantage for the rest of your life.

If you’d be able to pay it back in 2/3 months why not just wait that long and do the down payment yourself?

Buy something cheap that runs in the meantime

No one can really answer this for you because no one knows your relationship. How long have you been dating? Are things going well? Are you both mature and open about money and communication?

If you can pay it back in 2-3 months and everything is fine in the relationship and you've been dating for a good while, I don't see the problem. It's normal to help each other out in long term relationships, you're a team.

Not sure how she would use it in the future except in the case that she comes into a similar situation where she needs a loan, which would be completely fair.

Worry less about breaking "frame". I think people get way too caught up in that.

Working hard to save money is simply better than going into debt. Don't believe the salesman, there will be better opportunities in 2 months. Sounds like the LTR is expiring and she wants to garantee another 3 months.
