These are my personal notes on Law 28 - "Enter Action with Boldness" from Robert Greene's bestselling book "The 48 Laws of Power"

Typically I go more in-depth with laws but I've flipped the script here and gone simpler to make it easier to read for those who are "wall of text averse."

Loosely related: I think the reason Patrice O'Neal was loved so much by so many was because he was such an audacious motherfucker except he typically didn't calibrate his audaciousness like Greene suggests, but was relentlessly audacious.

Law 28 is about the power of audacity whilst highlighting and condemning the weakness of timidity. Timidity can be weaponized once one is already in a position of power, such as exercising authority within an institution or in the game of romance, being aesthetically desirable. One could equate audacity with confidence and timidity with a lack of confidence, audaciousness being the “10 out of 10″ on a sliding scale of confidence whilst timidity in its sincere absolutism as a “1 out of 10.”

Under red pill philosophy law 28 directly relates to the idea of holding frame as well as the PUA move known as “to agree and amplify.” Holding frame is another way of saying “maintain your composure” to be bold, one must be capable of maintaining their boldness whilst not letting anyone else cause them to regress to timidity. The way to fight attacks upon your composure is to be even more audacious than you were to begin with, upping the ante as to say, not becoming less audacious, as by being less audacious you lend credence to the jabs of your detractors. By retreating into one’s shell after a challenge to a recent display of audacity, you effectively hand victory to the would-be detractor.
