Last Tuesday I went to an industry event. I'm tall, 36, lift, clearly the best dressed man in the room (bespoke suits ftw), and got status in this community. People don't exactly know who I am, but they can tell I matter. I get a bunch of glances from girls throughout.

25, relatively hot, new girl in town approaches me ("new girl"). She's really into me and while I keep trying to have a two-way conversation, she's doing all the things to keep me talking ("oh i gotta learn from you") to make me feel like I'm the most interesting man in the room. (I probably was). She leaned against me in a way that made me feel her tits, that kinda stuff. Def a hunter and not passive pray.

As I talk with her another girl ("rich girl"), who previously (months ago) friendzoned me, walks up and asserts territory. I now have two of the hottest girls in the room hanging to my every word, giving me seductive stares, and barely acknowledging each other. I had to introduce them ("Do you know each other?") because they only paid attention to me.

No way am I gonna let rich girl have another go at me without putting up, just to get her ego fix, so I let her walk and focus on new girl. I keep talking with new girl for quite a bit. She monopolizes me for a large part of the night. She's like "you're cute, I wanna see you again. When? Tell me now, I know you're busy. Let's schedule something now." So I'm like.. ok ok let me check my calendar. I find time on Saturday (unusual for me), and am like: "Ok, Saturday. It's a date, we'll do stuff by my pool and maybe go hiking. I'll go check out the rest of the party now."

So anyway, I text with her and say we're on for Saturday. She texts back a day later: "I don't know if i'll be able to make this weekend. I have stuff going on. We could grab a coffee and maybe I'll even steal a kiss." I respond "Good to hear from you, New Girl. I actually don't do coffee dates anymore. I'm a fan of [fun things I like to do that take more time than coffee], and I'd pick you up in my [sportscar we talked about], but I'll totally also take a raincheck."

She says "Oh that sounds fun.. I love cars like that. Ok here's my address". and later she writes "I don't do coffee dates anymore...haha I like how upfront you were about that". I don't respond to the noise except for logistic confirm. [ The renegging was OFFENSE #1, even tho she came around excited at my dominance].

Next day is Saturday. She texts me 2 hours before pickup "This morning is a mess.. can't do it. If you're free tomorrow let me know". I say "Anything I can help with?" "Roommates shower broke. I just gotta be here." OFFENSE #2

She didn't respond to a phone call, and was not picking up the phone. She offered to call me "when these people are gone". After some pleading I concede "Ok, Ok, let's do tomorrow.", not really buying the BS, but willing to give one more chance. And she follows up with more "I'll make it up to you. I'm excited to see you... etc." from her.

Next day: "I was up working all night, I can't hang out today I'm sorry". OFFENSE #3 - three strikes and out.

My response: I texted her "Blocked and unfriended". and blocked her on FB and Text Messages. Not worth my time.

Obviously I dodged a bullet here. This girl was probably having Chad over at her place Friday night, and kept going through Sunday. Not a big deal, just not a good match if she's lying and disrespecting this early on.

My problem is that my response felt weak. I felt in control right up to the point where I blocked her and texted her about it. That felt weak. What could I have done better? Maybe just block and unfriend and not even a message? No block and unfriend and just cold shoulder? Block, unfriend, and text another plate?

I care more about my frame here than about the specifics.
