I would say it depends on if the interaction was in person or on social media, and if that was how the interaction started, or if there were things said before that? Basically, If it was on social media, then most likely yes... It sounds like he really wanted to start a dialogue w/you but couldn't think of where or how to start... So that may have been the best clumsy opener he thought of. If it was in person, and that was his opener, then also yes... If it was in person, and there were a few things said back & forth between you & him first, & then he said that, then I'd say it could be a genuine question. Also, not to drone on & on but now I'm curious, are you asking cause you're kinda hoping it was a line, cause maybe there's some interest from you? Because if so, just dm him & say something like "So have you figured out where yet?" & see where that goes.

I can’t speak for other men. But at least for me, I only say that if I believe that I actually have seen them before. Personally, it doesn’t make much sense to me to use this as a pickup line
